The Comissionamentos Inhotim program intends to spread and stimulate the contemporary art production, bringing to the audience works of prominent artists of the national circuit. For the 2021 edition, the institution invited the Brazilian artists Lucia Koch and Rommulo Vieira Conceição to develop new creations after their experiences in the Institute and its surroundings
For the large-scale site-specific work O espaço físico pode ser um lugar abstrato, complexo e em construção[1] (2021), Rommulo Vieira Conceição superposes elements from both public and private spaces, reorganizing them along with fragments of sacred and scholar architecture. Such combination merges different environments in order to arouse symbolic and functional displacements.

It is also through the relation between art and architecture that the work of Lucia Koch comes to life. By simultaneously occupying spaces in the city of Brumadinho and at Instituto Inhotim, her work raises questions around the place of art and the logic surrounding maneuvers for propagating information. PROPAGANDA (2021) is then a work composed by interventions in billboards that display photographs of boxes and empty packages collected by the artist.
