Traveling Workshop

The Traveling Workshop considers every space at the museum and botanical garden to be a place of experience involving various artistic languages. Each week, our workshop moves to a different location, exploring how each space helps us discover new ways to create and experience both art and nature.

Check out the Traveling Workshop program for April.

  • What the Earth Has to Tell Us , by Filipe Camato

Inspired by Sonic Pavilion (2009) by Doug Aitken, participants will reflect on the connection between the Krenak people and the Earth. Ceramic pots will be created and, like seashells, will serve to listen to sounds and feel body vibrations, offering a unique and deep sensory experience.

    April 5 and 6, at 2:00 p.m.

    Capacity: 25 participants | Duration: 2 hours | Location: Doug Aitken [G10] | Registration: On-site starting at 2:00 p.m. | Age Rating: All ages

  • Nailed Landscapes , by Nathália Cardoso

Using the String Art technique and inspired by Giro (2023) by artist Luana Vitra, participants will be encouraged to examine their personal connections with the landscape. With nails and strings arranged in geometric or abstract shapes, each visitor will create visual representations of scenes from their everyday life or from their memories.

    April 12 and 13, at 2:00 p.m.

Capacity: 25 participants | Duration: 2 hours | Location: Galeria Marcenaria [G9] | Registration: On-site starting at 2:00 p.m. | Age Rating: All ages. Children must be accompanied by a guardian.

  • What I Don't Invent Is a Lie

In this workshop, the phrase “What I don’t invent is a lie” by poet Manoel de Barros, will be used to explore ideas of reality and imagination inspired by the works of Galeria Psicoativa Tunga. Participants will unleash their creativity and create fictional stories based on photographs, transforming the gallery and its surroundings into spaces of invention and unique narratives.

     April 18, 19, 20 and 21, at 2:00 p.m.

Capacity: 25 participants | Duration: 2 hours | Location: Galeria Psicoativa Tunga [G21] | Registration: On-site starting at 2:00 p.m. | Age Rating: All ages

  • Drawings of the Invisible, by Brenno Theotônio
