Themed Visits

nhotim’s Education department offers several themed visits that draw from the Institute’s artistic and botanical collection to spark reflections and dialogues on relevant and important issues of our times.

Stay on top of August’s schedule of mediated visits:

  • Iroko, the Time Orisha With Heloísa Helena

On this visit, we will talk about time and its different manifestations. In face of the feeling that time is running faster and faster, the visit highlights the importance of a watchful eye, resilience and contemplation.

    August 3 and 4, at 11 am.

25 spots | Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes | Location: Reception | Registration on site from 10:30 am | Parental rating: Free

  • Crossing with Fernanda Morais

We transform bars into forms of expression that lead us to imagine life beyond limits. In this workshop, each person will be invited to create unique interventions, seeking new meanings and possibilities for freedom and overcoming.

    August 10 and 11, at 11 am

25 spots | Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes | Location: Rommulo Vieira Conceição, Physical space can be an abstract, complex and under construction place (2021) [A25] | Registration on site from 10:30 am | Parental rating: Free

  • Hybrid Creatures With Paula Libertad

Inspired by the works of artist Zé Carlos Garcia, we invite the public to create their own (mini) hybrid beings. For that, we will use materials such as wood, feathers, leaves, wool and stones to create hybrid sculptures.

    August 17 and 18, at 11 am

25 spots | Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes | Location: Lago Gallery [G6] | Registration on site from 10:30 am | Parental rating: Free

  • Narratives of the other, narratives of the self With Priscila Rezende (MG)

Artist Priscila Rezende proposes an overlap of the work of artist Miguel Rio Branco and the exhibition Esconjuro, by Paulo Nazareth, in a reflection on the perspectives and narratives built around Brazilianness and the Latin American subject.

    August 24, at 11 am

25 spots | Duration: 2 hours | Location: Miguel Rio Branco Gallery [G16] | Register on site starting at 10:30 am | Parental rating: Free

  • (Re)seeing the landscape With Raiany Costa

Starting from the question “What do you see?”, we will create a collective glossary about the same landscape. Using Olafur Eliasson’s perspective, we will read the space from different materials placed between the eyes and the landscape.

    August 25, at 11 am

25 spots | Duration: 1 hour and 30 minutes | Location: Olafur Eliasson, Viewing Machine (2001) [A13] | Registration on site from 10:30 am | Parental rating: Free
