Sound Garden

Jardim Sonoro [Sound Garden] is the first music festival created by Instituto Inhotim. An event that celebrates the fusion between art, nature and music.

The program features performances by Brazilian and international musicians: Paulinho da Viola (Brazil), Juçara Marçal (Brazil), Ballakée Sissoko & Vincent Segal (Mali/France), Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society (United States), Kham Meslien (France), Zoh Amba (United States), Kalaf Epalanga (Angola) and Aguidavi do Jêje (Brazil).

The public can also take part in exclusive activities, such as a chat with Angolan musician and writer Kalaf Epalanga and mediations involving iconic sound works from Inhotim, such as Forty Part Motet (2001), by Janet Cardiff, and Sonic Pavillion (2009), by Doug Aitken.

The concerts will be held on stages built especially for the festival, occupying open spaces close to Tunga’s True Rouge Gallery, to the century-old Tamboril tree, and to Hélio Oititica’s work Invenção da cor, penetrable Magic Square #5, De Luxe (1977).

The program will span three days, from July 12 through 14. Tickets refer to the admission price to Inhotim — R$50.00 for full price and R$25.00 for half price.

Secure your ticket by purchasing it in advance via the Sympla platform. You can also purchase “passport” type tickets, a format suitable for those who wish to visit Inhotim for 2 or 3 consecutive days, ensuring admission at a discounted price.

Residents of Brumadinho registered in the Nosso Inhotim program, Amigos do Inhotim and children up to 5 years old have free admission.
