Opening

Rivane Neuenschwander, Tangolomango

At Mata Gallery, Belo Horizonte-based artist Rivane Neuenschwander presents her solo exhibition Tangolomango (2024), on display at Inhotim from October 19.

The exhibition brings together works in different languages—such as painting, photography, installation and video—and from different decades, which are updated in the artist’s most recent investigations, when dealing with issues related to childhood, history, ecology and politics.

Some of the works presented are: V.G.T. (Ame-o ou deixe-o) (2023), J.B. (Piracema: uma transa pós-amazônica) (2023), Trôpego Trópico (2022), Eu sou uma arara (2022), O Alienista (2019), Alegoria do Medo (2018), Caça ao fantasma (2018), (WAR) (2017), Cabra-cega (2016), Zé Carioca e seus amigos (2005) and Andando em Círculos (2000).

The Tangolomango panorama is curated by Júlia Rebouças, Beatriz Lemos and Douglas de Freitas

In the Inhotim collection, Rivane Neuenschwander has presented, since 2009, Continente/Nuvem (2008), installed in a house that preserves part of Inhotim’s history in its territory. Dating back to 1874, it is one of the oldest buildings in the region, a remnant of the farm that existed on the land where the museum now operates.

Tangolomango has Vale as its Master Sponsor and Gold Sponsorship by CBMM, through the Federal Law for Culture Incentive.
