April at Inhotim
This month brings the opening of an exhibition, the first edition of a local producers’ fair, and many educational activities! Learn more and plan your visit!
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its inauguration, Galeria Claudia Andujar presents the group exhibition Maxita Yano. In the Yanomami Language, “Maxita Yano” means “earth house”. This term will be added to the name of the gallery. The exhibition features 22 Indigenous artists from South America and opens on Saturday, April 26. On the same day, the first edition of the Brumadinho Experience takes place at Igrejinha Space. This fair highlights local culture, traditions, and gastronomy, bringing together producers, artists, and cultural leaders.
The whole family can be creative at the Traveling Workshop, with different themes and locations each week. In April, participants will create ceramic pots inspired by seashells, everyday scene representations using nails and strings, fictional stories based on photographs, and drawings that reveal hidden shapes.
If you are looking for a guided tour by Inhotim’s Education team, join the Panoramic Tour, which explores the museum’s history and collection, departing from Reception. To find out more about what’s new at the museum, we recommend the thematic visit Claudia Andujar on April 27.
When planning your visit, include in your itinerary the temporary exhibitions on display: Homo sapiens sapiens by Pipilotti Rist, Apenas depois da chuva (2024) by Rebeca Carapiá, Tangolomango by Rivane Neuenschwander, Esconjuro by Paulo Nazareth, O Barco (2021) by Grada Kilomba, the group exhibition Ensaios sobre paisagem and Giro (2023) by Luana Vitra.
