2022 Inhotim Environment Week: Ser do Cerrado
To celebrate World Environment Day, Inhotim prepared a program focusing on the Cerrado. From June 1 to 5, the 2022 Inhotim Environment Week – Ser do Cerrado offers a free program, for audiences of all ages, featuring lectures, mediated visits, workshops and cultural performances, and inaugurates a new educational space at the Institute—the Meliponary.
Home to diverse ecosystems and biodiversity, the Cerrado is the second largest biome in the country and a global hotspot—a term used to designate places of vast natural wealth, but which are also undergoing a current process of degradation. In the Cerrado, there are water reserves that supply some of the most important rivers in South America and are a water source to all regions of Brazil. Despite its relevance, the Cerrado is highly threatened and needs our attention.
The 2022 Inhotim Environment Week – Ser do Cerrado is an opportunity to get acquainted with the Cerrado and understand our role in its conservation. Registration for workshops and mediated visits is now open. Next week, the full program will be available. Stay informed through our networks.
Ser do Cerrado is a project carried out in partnership with the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais through the Platforma Semente, with funds from environmental compensatory measures.
