The most unexpected reflections can emerge from the simplest of questions. This is precisely the proposal of “What is…?”.

Visitors are invited to walk along Inhotim’s paths, starting off with a question that proposes new points of view for their experience in a series of events.

In November, the program will be on the 24th and the topic is “What is time?”

11:00 am: Smell of water

With Anelis Assumpção (SP)

In this immersive tour of the Inhotim gardens, singer Anelis Assumpção addresses creativity through contemplation. She also discusses her book Serena finitude (Veneta, 2024), in connection with themes such as songs, memory and museum. The artist treats walking as a mechanism for organizing ideas, questions and reflections.

On the one side, the past frozen in museums; on the other, the dystopian future, which descends upon the present in the form of a catastrophe. How can we escape this flattening of the experience of time? Would there be other types of temporalization popping up? Which, where, how, when?

In “The sparkle in your eyes holds all the time in the world,” Rafael RG, in collaboration with MIR Estúdio, creates an immersive environment where light, word and time intertwine. In this space, the immaterialities and materialities of affections and time are discussed and questioned with the viewers.
