Inhotim Rotas Musicais: 2024 Season
The artists who exhibit at Inhotim pose questions in their works about the concerns of a complex, multifaceted and hyperconnected world. How does the music of our time give us answers? The Rotas Musicais [Musical Routes] project appears as an invitation to reflect and experience music on the paths of Inhotim.
The routes that lead to music at Inhotim go far beyond the limits of the museum: this year, the season of the Inhotim Orchestra and the Inhotim Quartet includes performances in Brumadinho and Belo Horizonte.
In Belo Horizonte, the events will be held at the Fundação Educação Artística (FEA) and, in Brumadinho, at the Brumadinho Municipal Theater. At Inhotim, the performances will be held at the Burle-Marx Education and Culture Center and near Hélio Oiticica’s work Invenção da cor, penetrable Magic Square #5, De Luxe (1977).
The season’s repertoire includes presentations of works that dialogue with the world of cinema, theater and the visual arts, as well as the national premiere of a work by composer Julius Eastman and a tribute to composer Marisa Rezende, who turns 80 in 2024.
With nine events in total throughout the year, the seven concert programs are added to the activities of the Music School in two performances, presenting the strength of an innovative and interdisciplinary pedagogical project.
