Form and poetic possibilities in contemporary art: Atlantic relations between Brazil and Africa
Inspired by the thoughts of Beatriz Nascimento, featured in the exhibition Direito à forma, the Themed Visit “Form and poetic possibilities in contemporary art: Atlantic relations between Brazil and Africa” invites visitors to reflect on the different forms of artistic expression.
During the activity, participants are invited to consider the relationship between form and narrative in the production of artists and the possibilities of expression that go beyond figurative painting, underscoring the forms of expression used. The meeting also promotes a discussion about the importance of Black representation in the history of contemporary art and its rewriting based on a non-white context, with a view of Afro-Atlantic art through cultural interactions between Brazil and Africa.
The visit is free, with limited spots. Those interested in participating must register at the Reception on December 2, 3, 9 and 10.
