    A privileged field of study for public and private schools, Instituto Inhotim develops programs aimed at teachers and students. With an innovative methodology, the contents of the educational projects provide greater access to the art and botanical collections, train the public, mobilize art as a reading of contemporary life, and articulate activities of preservation of biodiversity with the aim to foster sustainable life. The educational projects are transdisciplinary and serve more than 70 thousand people from the school community each year.

    Escola Integrada

    Escola Integrada

    Children and teenagers from 6 to 15 years of age who are in elementary and junior high school participate in the Escola Integrada Program, a partnership of Instituto Inhotim with the Belo Horizonte City Government. Teachers, community agents and workshop leaders also take part in the multidisciplinary activities held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Inhotim’s gardens and galleries. Before the visit, Inhotim’s team of educators visits the schools and develops a training program especially suited to the teachers and workshop instructors. Together, they discuss possible developments that can leverage the subjects, themes and questions raised during the visits.

    Descentralizando o Acesso

    Descentralizando o Acesso

    The public school system of the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region is served by Inhotim’s special program for the insertion of the school community, called Descentralizando o Acesso. This program has a special focus on the work of the teachers. Based on the holding of workshops that precede the school visits, the teachers are encouraged to participate in the construction of the themes and contents of the visits, empowering the contact of the students with Inhotim and producing unfoldings of this experience.

    Espaço Ciência

    Espaço Ciência

    This exhibition space uses different educational tools such as magnifying glasses, microscopes, scale models and didactic models for teaching about botany, science and the environment. Interactivity is used as a tool in the construction of knowledge for visitors of different ages.

    The project has the corporate incentive:
